Our client, a leading finance-focused big data firm, is seeking a skilled Lead Software Engineer to join their team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the forefront of financial markets analytics, combining the best of tech and finance to solve complex problems.
Position Overview
As the Lead Software Engineer, you will manage and develop a team of software engineers, setting clear goals aligned with business priorities. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing our client's groundbreaking big data processing runtime, building out its capabilities and improving its performance. This position involves creating financial analytics tools and utilities as part of a self-service approach to metrics, collaborating with other teams across engineering and cross-functionally, external stakeholders and design services.
Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in software engineering with proficiency in Java, C# or C++

Deep knowledge of low-level computing concepts (such as memory management, process/thread management, and compilers)

Experience in guiding and nurturing high-achieving teams

Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic work environment

A genuine enthusiasm for developing scalable and efficient solutions

Familiarity with cloud-native development practices

A background or interest in the financial services sector
