Job Description
Location: Fully remote
Working pattern: Aligned to US East Coast business hours
The Opportunity
We are supporting a global trading technology firm in the search for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen reliability and infrastructure coverage during US trading hours. This role sits within a mature SRE function and focuses on building and operating highly available, production-critical systems in a globally distributed environment.
The position is fully remote and open to candidates based anywhere in the Americas or Europe (including the UK), provided they can reliably support US East Coast hours.
Key Highlights
- Senior, hands-on SRE role with genuine ownership of production systems
- Fully remote, with flexible location and US timezone alignment
- Operate at scale across cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes-based platforms
- Exposure to latency-sensitive, always-on trading infrastructure
The Role
You will work across cloud and infrastructure layers to improve reliability, performance, and operational resilience. This includes supporting multi-region environments, automating infrastructure using modern tooling, and taking responsibility for systems that underpin real-time trading activity.
The role combines platform engineering with operational ownership, and will suit someone comfortable working close to production, responding to incidents, and continuously improving system robustness.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Strong experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer in a production-critical environment
- Deep Linux systems knowledge and solid networking fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised workloads in production
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or equivalent)
- Strong automation skills using Python, Go, or similar
- Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD experience
Experience with bare metal infrastructure, trading systems, fintech, or crypto environments is beneficial but not essential. Exposure to messaging systems or low-latency infrastructure is also a plus.
Why Apply
- Work on complex, globally distributed systems with real-world impact
- Join a technically strong SRE team with a culture of ownership and pragmatism
- Fully remote setup with flexibility on location
- Opportunity to deepen infrastructure expertise in a high-performance environment
If this role aligns with your background and you are interested in supporting US trading hours from a remote location, we would be keen to speak.
