Job Description

Locations: London or Singapore | Hybrid (3 days/week in office)

  • Build the systems that underpin a global trading operation
  • Work across real-time and batch data pipelines
  • Python-focused, infrastructure-aware, and close to the business
  • Flexible, high-impact role with strong compensation

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering role within a growing global Data Engineering team at a high-performance trading firm. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports the firm’s core systems – from real-time trading analytics to batch reporting pipelines. This is not a back-office warehouse job: you’ll work across the full data lifecycle, with clear ownership of how data is ingested, processed, monitored, and used by teams across the firm – including trading, quant research, and operations. You’ll help define and evolve the architecture, with opportunities to introduce new tools and best practices as the function matures. The environment is fast-paced but collaborative, with short feedback loops and a pragmatic engineering culture. You’ll be working with sharp, technically-minded colleagues who value good design, clean code, and shared problem solving.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong experience with Python and SQL in a production environment
  • Proven track record building ETL/ELT pipelines (real-time or batch)
  • Familiarity with streaming tools such as Kafka, Flink, or similar
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and tools like Docker/Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of data governance, observability, and operational robustness
  • Experience working in a Linux-based environment
  • Prior exposure to trading, financial markets, or crypto is a bonus, but not essential

Why Apply

This is a chance to join a technically strong and collaborative team, where your work will have direct and visible impact on the firm’s trading systems and decision-making infrastructure. You’ll have the freedom to improve architecture, shape tooling, and bring new ideas to production in an environment that values clean engineering over process-heavy development. The role comes with a strong compensation package, hybrid working (typically three days in the office), and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, quants, and traders on systems that genuinely matter to the business.

If you’re a data engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to work on meaningful systems, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now!
