Job Description

  • Work directly with traders and quantitative researchers in a front-office engineering team
  • Build and evolve high-performance systems that drive real-time pricing and risk decisions
  • Develop workflows enabling traders to tune and optimize model parameters
  • Join a collaborative, low-ego culture focused on technical excellence and market impact

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering position within a trading desk that manages the parameters driving option pricing and risk models. Working hand in hand with traders and quants, you’ll develop the tools and data flows that allow pricing models to respond rapidly and accurately to changing market conditions. You’ll be building robust, high-performance software that gives the trading teams visibility and control over key parameters. Expect to work across distributed systems, data pipelines and user-facing tools, ensuring that new modelling ideas and parameter updates can be implemented rapidly and safely into production. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and pragmatic: engineers are trusted to solve problems end-to-end, from architecture and design through to deployment and support.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong professional experience developing in Java, ideally 2–6 years
  • Deep understanding of multi-threaded programming and distributed application design
  • Experience building or supporting real-time or high-performance systems
  • Proven ability to partner with traders, quants or other end-users to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: clean design, testing, deployment, monitoring
  • Familiarity with financial markets, derivatives, or model calibration workflows (vol surfaces, yield curves, parameter fitting) advantageous
  • Additional experience with Python or C++ beneficial but not required

Why Apply

  • Highly collaborative front-office environment — daily interaction with traders and quants
  • Work on technically complex, business-critical systems that directly impact P&L
  • Modern engineering culture: clean code, peer review, continuous improvement
  • Competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including comprehensive healthcare, generous leave, and wellness initiatives
