Your Role

This is a newly created leadership position at a globally recognised trading firm. You’ll be responsible for building and leading a front-office technology function focused on the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of business-critical systems. You’ll work closely with traders and heads of desk to identify operational pain points and drive rapid, pragmatic solutions. At the same time, you’ll set the technical direction and lead the delivery of long-term enhancements, assembling your own team from existing internal engineering talent. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of trading and technology, combining system-level thinking, high-performance engineering, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

 

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience leading front-office technology or trading systems teams
  • Strong understanding of low-latency trading platforms, market connectivity, and real-time data
  • Comfortable working directly with traders to understand and prioritise business needs
  • Hands-on background in production engineering or trading application support
  • Experience building and leading teams in high-performance or mission-critical environments
  • Ability to balance short-term stability with long-term system evolution
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and incident response tooling
  • Background in crypto, HFT, or electronic trading is preferred but not essential
