Job Description

Location: Greenwich, CT | Hybrid

  • Work on a small, collaborative team of researchers, engineers, and traders building systematic trading strategies
  • Hands-on role with impact across the entire tech stack: data engineering, distributed systems, and simulation tools
  • Ideal for an engineer who enjoys deep technical challenges and working closely with quants
  • Excellent compensation and bonus potential, plus top-tier benefits

The Role

A high-performing trading team is seeking a Research Engineer to help design and build infrastructure for systematic strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with researchers and traders to implement simulations, accelerate research workflows, and engineer high-performance systems used in live trading. This role requires creativity, curiosity, and the discipline to write clean, well-structured, production-ready code.

You’ll contribute to the full research-to-deployment lifecycle: writing simulation frameworks, building distributed data systems, and prototyping trading algorithms in Python. It’s a hands-on, technical role with autonomy, impact, and the chance to work on novel problems alongside experienced professionals from both tech and trading backgrounds.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • 2–6 years of professional software engineering experience (more senior candidates also considered)
  • Strong programming ability in Python, with experience in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Understanding of quantitative finance fundamentals (e.g. pricing, risk, or trading logic)
  • Exposure to distributed systems, high-performance computing, or multithreading
  • Experience building production-quality tools in a research or trading environment is a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive base salary: $175,000 – $225,000, plus generous discretionary bonus
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with discretionary employer match
  • Learning and development budget, mentorship, and access to cutting-edge tech
  • Work in a collaborative, low-ego environment where ideas are valued

This role would suit someone who thrives in intellectually rigorous environments and wants to be close to the trading decision-making process. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.
