The Role
A leading trading firm is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Treasury Quantitative Development group. You’ll be central to the build-out of scalable, high-availability systems used to calculate margin and cash stress scenarios for senior management, treasurers and PMs. You’ll work closely with quantitative researchers and engineering teams to design backend services and maintain the firm’s data infrastructure, including data models, warehousing and caching layers.
This is a global role with regular collaboration across teams in London, New York and Miami.
Key Skills and Experience Required
• At least 5 years of experience developing systems in Python or another OOP language with strong Python proficiency
• Background in Computer Science or other quantitative discipline (BSc or higher)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) and other data platforms (e.g. DuckDB, NoSQL, data lakes)
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures and software design patterns
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders
• Independent, detail-oriented and highly organised
Desirable
• Exposure to Treasury or margin methodologies in financial services
• Prior experience in a trading or hedge fund environment
